photo peer visitAs part of a new program aiming at strengthening the professionalism of FEBA food bankers, a first peer-to-peer visit took place end of March at the Tournai food bank in Belgium.
Two managers from Fareshare UK, accompanied by a coordinator from FEBA, spent two days with Jacques Vandenschrik (president of the food bank) and his team to exchange on their operating processes, understand the differences and identify successful best practices.

The visit had been carefully prepared in advance between the two teams in order to make the best use of the time available.

Participants methodically reviewed the key processes of the Tournai food bank and the Uk team delivered a full report of their findings and their assessment of the best practices implemented. Both teams were positive of the benefits of the visit and recommend other foodbanks to follow their examples. Three more visits are planned with the support of Kellogg and member food banks are invited to candidate either as host or as visitor by contacting FEBA.
