On 3rd June, FEBA was invited to speak at the Environment Sustainability and Governance (ESG) week organized by partner IFCO. During the session, Anna Dekker informed IFCO staff in Europe and across the globe about the FEBA’s mission and the work of its members currently happening across Europe to recover and redistribute food to those who need it most. Anna Dekker also highlighted current priorities across the network more generally, including initiatives around ESG like the Unified Data Framework project to develop a standardized and comprehensive approach to measure the environmental and social value and impact of food banks.
Balazs Cseh also shared with staff the positive impacts of the 5-year partnership, signed in 2022, in which IFCO provides around 200,000 IFCO’s Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs) to FEBA’s Members free of charge, helping members to operate more efficiently and reduce food waste in the fresh supply chain. The presentation was attended by over 150 IFCO employees from across Europe and the world.
