From 6 to 8 June 2019, Tafel Germany and its members gathered to hold their biennial General Meeting in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. Representatives from more than 940 Food Banks from all over Germany were invited to discuss current and predicted challenges and jointly identify future goals and actions.
An additional item on this year’s agenda was the election of Tafel Germany’s new Board of Directors. Jochen Brühl, chairman of Tafel Germany since 2013 and board member of FEBA, has been confirmed in office for an additional four-year term.
To conclude the event, Tafel Germany along with its co-organizers, Tafel Köln and Tafel Nordrhein-Westfalen, hosted the traditional “Lange Tafel” supported by local politicians and renowned public figures. This longstanding public event welcomed more than 1,000 guests and marked the highlight of the General Meeting by celebrating solidarity and humanity with free food, good company, live music, and much more.
