The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) signed a donation Agreement with the French Group Savencia, aiming at decreasing food waste and alleviate hunger throughout Europe.
The signature, that adds Savencia to the group of companies that daily support FEBA and its membership, took place on 6 June 2019 in Viroflay (Paris), at Savencia’s headquarters.
Savencia, with its worldwide presence is among the world’s leading milk processors and consists of small-scale companies, usually located within their milk production zones and united by a strong humanistic, family-based and entrepreneurial culture.
Following a former collaboration with FEBA membership, Savencia is now even more committed to collaborate with Food Banks in Europe. Indeed, the Group decided to confirm its support to European Food Banks settling their commitment in reducing food waste and food insecurity across Europe and, on the same day, it also signed a Partnership Agreement with our French member, the Fédération Française des Banques Alimentaires.
"Entreprises who have a solid culture of Corporate Societal Responsibility will be better equipped to conquer the 21st century. The co-operation agreement between Savencia and FEBA is an example of what can be achieved in fostering the concern for our earthly resources and environment and the wellbeing of our most deprived citizens achieving both the reduction in food waste and more nutritious food for those in need. Thank you for your humanity to all the people of Savencia" said Jacques Vandenschrik, President of FEBA.
"Persuaded that we must go even further in our actions to fight food waste, we are pleased with this new solidarity and sustainable partnership that will allow us to develop the gift of our products to the most needed." glossed Fabienne Boroni, RSE & Communication Director.
