Banki Żywności has launched the seventh edition of EkoMisja, a nationwide educational programme encouraging primary school students to adopt healthier, more sustainable habits and prevent food waste.

EkoMisja combines food waste prevention with environmental and health education, using engaging tools such as lesson plans, storytelling, illustrated stories, audiobooks, games and creative activities.

Developed by Banki Żywności experts and educators, the programme helps teachers introduce complex topics in an accessible, practical way. This encourages children to understand the value of food and make more conscious choices every day.

Taking Care of People, Taking Care of the Planet

The new edition explores the close connection between people’s health and planetary health. Younger students will learn how proper food storage can help food stay fresh for longer, while older students will take part in an outdoor “Quest for Health”, exploring topics ranging from nutrition and physical activity to rest, wellbeing and responsible choices.

Reaching 237 000 Young People Across Poland

Since its first edition, EkoMisja has reached more than 237,000 students in more than 2500 schools across Poland. Participation is free of charge, and the first schools to register for the new edition will receive a special package of printed educational materials. The programme is implemented in partnership with Lidl Poland.
