To mark the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW, 29/09), FEBA hosted its annual “Taste of Thanks” event at Comet in Brussels. The evening brought together over 35 partners, supporters, and prospective collaborators for an inspiring celebration of networking, storytelling, and recognition.
The event spotlighted the human impact behind FEBA’s mission and demonstrated how cross-sector partnerships drive meaningful, systemic change against food waste.
A key highlight was the “Power of Partnership” panel, moderated by FEBA’s Fundraising and Grant Officer, Elliot Mackenzie. Featuring insights from Ingrid Boom (Colruyt Group) and Luc Rogge (Brussels Food Bank), the discussion focused on how strategic collaboration successfully transforms surplus food into support for local communities. The evening proceeded with a special Partner Spotlight moment honouring Carrier Transicold Truck & Trailer and celebrating an exceptional 11 years of continuous partnership with FEBA.
Gathering with partners on IDAFLW served as a powerful reminder of a shared conviction: everyone deserves access to healthy food, food loss and waste can be prevented, and FEBA alongside food banks across Europe proudly serve as the bridge between the two.
