FEBA Witnesses the New Leadership at the Belgrade Food Bank

Banka Hrane Beograd - Belgrade Food Bank (BFB) is a FEBA Full Member in Serbia.  Although the name suggests activities in the capital, the organisation functions with a nationwide reach and a network of almost 200 partner charities are active in all regions of the country.  On a per capita basis, the Belgrade Food Bank provides around 0.15 kg of food per person annually, and in 2023, it reached approximately 90,000 people in need. Serbia has a population of around 4 million; hence, these numbers, which may seem small, are still significant in the Serbian context and are a milestone for a country of this size.

The Belgrade Food Bank faces challenges, including a very small team. Nonetheless, there are strong positive signs, such as the new leadership with energy and motivation, a record of tangible results in food redistribution, the willingness to collaborate and openness to support, and, no less important, a clear recognition of the areas that need development.

We encourage our network to visit the BFB’s website and their active social media on Facebook, with more than 2.5k followers, to offer the support and collaboration that will allow this small, impactful team to grow its reach and deepen its already significant contribution to the country.
