Our Senior Network Development Advisor, Balasz Cseh, represented the European Food Banks Federation at the FoodCLIC Consortium Meeting held on 19–21 November in Brașov, Romania. The three-day gathering brought together partners from across Europe to exchange knowledge, review progress, and plan the next steps in transforming local food systems.
FoodCLIC is an EU Horizon Europe project that supports city-regions in developing healthier, more sustainable, and more equitable food environments. Through Living Labs, scientific research, and real-life interventions, the project aims to strengthen collaboration between municipalities, researchers, civil society, and food system actors. More information is available at foodclic.eu.
During the meeting, FEBA contributed to discussions on innovative logistics models for small and medium food donors, highlighting the potential for improved surplus redistribution and increased impact for food banks. The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with partners, share FEBA’s expertise, and explore synergies for future collaboration.
As part of the program, participants visited the Brașov Food Bank Banca pentru Alimente, where the team presented its operations, local partnerships, and the impact of their work in the region. The visit was inspiring for all attendees, offering a valuable real-life example of community-led food surplus redistribution.
