Mapping the Future of EU Food Donation: The Global Policy Atlas Launch in Austria

Last week, our Senior Policy Officer joined Die Tafel Österreich in Vienna for the launch of The Global Food Donation Policy Atlas in Austria.

Last week, our Senior Policy Officer Ignazio Corrao joined Die Tafel Österreich in Vienna for the launch of The Global Food Donation Policy Atlas in Austria, an initiative that holds profound importance for us: the Atlas evaluates the legal landscape of food loss and waste around the world and offers recommendations to expand food donation. FEBA is driving this project forward and scaling its impact throughout Europe.

The rich panel discussion featured Alexandra Carina Gruber, Managing Director at Tafel Österreich, Felicitas Schneider, Food Loss & Waste Expert at Thünen Institute and Trevor Findley, Clinical Instructor at Harvard Law School.

With the guidance of the Global FoodBanking Network and the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic, Austria claims it’s time to determine the political direction and learn from international best practices on food donation. FEBA agrees and feels privileged to collaborate with Die Tafel Österreich on this important subject.

We are enthusiastic about the audience’s multi-perspective debate! It’s a powerful reminder of how strong collaboration keeps us motivated to scale food donation, reduce waste, and support communities.
Finally, we extend our sincere gratitude to Tafel Österreich for hosting an exceptional event and arranging the field visits that so effectively illustrated the impact of our work.
