Policy & Advocacy

FEBA is an active and recognised stakeholder across EU-level platforms where food aid, food waste, and social inclusion policies are shaped.

What Do We Advocate For?

Food Security for Everyone
FEBA advocates for food security as a fundamental right. We stand for universal, sufficient, and safe access to food and material support, ensuring no one is left behind.
Tackling Poverty and Strengthening Social Inclusion through Food Aid
Food insecurity undermines health outcomes, educational achievement, and social cohesion. We promote food and material assistance as powerful tools to address poverty at its roots, foster social inclusion, and support community resilience.
Supportive Legislation & Sustainable Funding for Food Banks
We call for removing barriers to food donation and simplifying the legislative landscape at national and EU level. At the same time, we advocate for financial support to enable food banks to scale up redistribution and reduce food waste and loss.
Advancing the Circular Economy through Food Redistribution
We position food redistribution as a practical, measurable strategy to reduce the environmental impact of the food system. We advocate for reducing food loss and waste, as well as cutting greenhouse gas emissions, thereby contributing to the EU’s climate neutrality and zero waste goals.
