Since 2018, General Mills has been supporting FEBA in the mission of reducing food insecurity by preventing food waste and strengthening food banks. General Mills supports FEBA through several concrete actions: donating surplus food, helping redirect excess food to those in need, funding impactful projects across Europe, sponsoring FEBA’s annual convention, reinforcing food banking efforts and knowledge-sharing across the continent and partnering on local projects with FEBA members in several European countries.
For example, General Mills supported the “Surplus with Purpose” program in the UK, which makes it easier and more cost-effective for farmers & producers to divert surplus fresh vegetables to those in need. Furthermore, it contributed to the creation of a new website for Banques Alimentaires, the French food bank.
Engaging their employees through volunteering, the General Mills team shows a strong commitment by participating in annual food collection campaigns throughout Europe.
This is how our CEO, Esteban Arriaga, defined the firm sponsor: “General Mills is one of our longest-standing and most valued partners. We also share common values of sustainability, partnership, and long-term impact — all of which are the core of our strategy to fight food insecurity across Europe. They truly understand the needs on the ground and help us create a ripple effect of impact across Europe.”
General Mills is committed to creating positive change. Together with FEBA against food waste, every action matters.
