Access to food is not guaranteed, and Europe is no exception. The EU continues to waste 59 million tonnes of food per annum, and yet 8.5 per cent of the population is unable to afford a proper meal every other day.
The economic and global shifts of 2025 have certainly tested FEBA’s resilience, bringing both new difficulties and opportunities for food banks across Europe. FEBA has proactively met these challenges by implementing innovative strategies, strengthening its policy and advocacy voice, and embracing digital transformation— ensuring that essential food resources reach those who need them most.
