FEBA report on EU and international news and developments from January to February 2023
This issue features articles on a variety of subjects, ranging from statistics on the cost-of-living crisis to the main drivers of food security. In addition to that, the report focuses on the Citizens’ Panel on food waste and discusses EU feed autonomy as a factor playing into food security. It further highlights achievements regarding reductions of food waste in the hospitality sector and addresses the European Year of Skills 2023. Interesting funding opportunities under the Horizon Europe program are also listed. Looking at the international sphere, the FAO published a legal draft on the prevention and reduction of food loss and waste, which is summarised.
