At FEBA, we believe that the strength of food banks lies in their deep local roots—driven by committed staff and volunteers who understand their communities. That’s why we are especially grateful to the Starbucks partners across Europe who took part in this year’s Global Month of Good, offering their time and energy to support the work of food banks.
As part of this initiative, Starbucks employees engaged in hands-on volunteering activities with FEBA members and other food bank organisations around the world—contributing to a broader global effort that delivered more than 7 million meals through our network, The Global FoodBanking Network, and Feeding America.
One example is the work done in Italy, where a team of Starbucks volunteers from the Milan Roastery joined Banco Alimentare della Lombardia at their warehouse in Muggiò. Together, they sorted donated food for distribution to people facing food insecurity across the region. Banco Alimentare has been serving communities in Italy since 1989 by recovering surplus food and ensuring it reaches those in need, while also actively fighting food waste.
This kind of collaboration shows the power of partnership and community-driven action. To every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves to support our mission: thank you for standing with us in the fight against food insecurity.
