European Food Forum: a discussion on the current status of food poverty in the EU and how to close the gap

‘Hungry for attention to food poverty: how can the EU address rising food poverty while reaching its Green Deal and Farm-to-Fork objectives’ was the topic of the event organised by the European Food Forum on 26 April 2023 online. Hosted by the four MEP’s Mr. Petros Kokkalis,  Ms. Maria Soraya Rodriìguez Ramo, Ms. Irene Tolleret and Ms. Christine Schneider. Closing the food poverty gap while also achieving Europe’s ambitious sustainability objectives requires all actors to work together. There is a role to play for policymakers, for NGOs, and for the agro-food sector – which are all critical for achieving the EU’s Green Deal and Farm-to-Fork objectives and hunger relief efforts. On this occasion FEBA presented its work and the work of the Food Banks all across Europe and highlighting the impact of the socio-economic crisis.
