FEBA EU Working Group Meeting 7 June 2022

16 participants from 11 countries joined the online session of the FEBA EU Working Group on 7 June 2022.

During the 5th meeting of the year, a variety of topics have been discussed, among them:

The follow- up on the Policy paper on binding targets to reduce food waste and stakeholder event in collaboration with Global Counsel included a thank you to all the participants and viewers as well as explaining a new public consultation on the revision of the Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC).

One of the questions arising from the newly implemented ESF+ was in connection to the voucher system and if that is being used or introduced by different countries. The survey showed that it can vary from country to country and depends on which authority is responsible.

A second survey was circulated on the impact of the Coronavirus Response Investment Initiatives (CRII and CRII+) on the different members and the results were shared.

In addition to that, the JRC survey on Food Waste Prevention Initiatives was submitted by 8 FEBA members.

The EFSCM sub- group meeting on the dashboard to monitor food supply and food security and the EU Platform FLW sub- group meeting on food donation was summarised and some interesting data shared and discussed.

Last but not least, FEBA shared the calendar for the period June- July 2022 giving a concise overview on the activities scheduled, the tasks FEBA will carry out and the related opportunities for member organisations.

The next appointment of the FEBA EU Working will be held on 5 July 2022.
