FEBA participates in FoodSafety4EU pre-forum event in Brussels

Focusing on the topic “The new sustainability regulation: how to integrate it into food safety?”, the FoodSafety4EU platform organised an event as part of the  pre-forum cycle “Towards the EU Food Safety Forum: shaping together the new collaborative platform”. Key representatives from the EU Food Safety System gathered in Brussels on 15 December 2022 for a co-creative dialogue, sharing insights from the perspectives of policy, industry, consumer, research, and civil society.

FEBA’s Secretary General has been invited to join a panel discussion on key priorities for food supply chain stakeholders, summarising the scope of activities of FEBA and its members and highlighting the inextricable linkage between food system sustainability, food donation, and food safety. She further presented the timeline of EU level initiatives on food waste prevention, emphasising in particular the amendments on EU food hygiene legislation facilitating food donation.

The outcomes of the pre-forum will feed the EU Food Safety Forum scheduled to take place at the end of 2023.

Further information on the event is available here and the FoodSafety4EU project as such can be discovered here.
