SEA and DHL Express together with FEBA: more than 21 tonnes of food for Ukrainian refugees

A DHL Express cargo aircraft left from Milan Malpensa airport on Tuesday 5 April with more than 21  tonnes of food on board with as destination Bucharest, where it will be used to support Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war. managed by SEA, had collected 16.5 tonnes of food, with 4.5 additional tonnes of Tuna donated by Bolton Group and 200 kg of honey from 3bee. 16.5 tonnes of food was collected on a voluntary basis by SEA employees, the company that manages Linate and Malpensa airports, with the support and operational coordination of the European Food Banks Federation. 4.5 additional tonnes of Tuna were donated by Bolton Group and 200 kg of honey came from 3bee.

After landing at the Romanian airport, the aid was loaded onto trucks under the coordination of SEA and Banca pentru Alimente București in Bucharest, and then delivered to the Asociatia Mladita, Asociatia Inimi Nobile, and Asociatia Casa Shalom shelters, which are taking in around 240 refugees fleeing the war.

“We thank SEA and DHL Express for this initiative in favour of the European Food Banks Federation to support Banca pentru Alimente București. This food will be fundamental for Ukrainian refugees in Bucharest and represents tangible evidence of a solidarity that crosses borders and gives hope.” said Jacques Vandenschrik, President of the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA).
