Samedi du Partage: 259 tonnes of food for the Food Banks in Switzerland

Partage, the Food Bank in Switzerland, organized its annual food collection “Samedi du Partage” on 4 and 5 June in the cantons of Geneva and Lausanne.

201 tonnes of food and hygiene products were collected in the canton of Geneva (+35% compared to the last spring collection in the shops), while in the greater Lausanne area, the first-ever collection brought 58 tonnes. The results are very satisfactory, which is good news at a time when the demand for basic needs has increased by 30%.

All the goods offered will be stored in the respective cantonal Food Banks and then redistributed free of charge to the beneficiary charities and social services according to their needs and specificities.

Those who did not make a purchase during the Samedi du Partage can still make a gesture of solidarity by taking part in the virtual collection until 30 June. Click here to know more!

The next Samedi du Partage will take place on 26 and 27 November 2021.
